There are many resources on the web about raising sheep and one CSBA recommends comes from the Maryland Small Ruminant Page and Dr. Susan Schoenian who is the Extension Sheep & Goat Specialist at the University of Maryland’s Western Maryland Research & Education Center. Her online series of Sheep 101, Sheep 201 is very informative and often, CSBA Facebook Page shares new timely topics from her or posts by Universities and other sources. Please like and follow!

You need to have a working relationship with a veterinarian as they would be familiar with your flock and can prescribe medications when needed. There is a new federal directive and very soon you will not be able to purchase many of the over the counter antibiotics and other drug type items any at your local farm store or mail order unless you have a prescription from a licensed veterinarian.
