2020 ct sHEEP, wOOL & fIBER fESTIVAL

Well this is a first for our modern day CT Sheep, Wool & Fiber Festival.

UPDATE
The Board of Directors and Festival Committee met via teleconference on Monday the 16th and made the difficult decision to cancel the 111th Connecticut Sheep, Wool & Fiber Festival. The chances of the Covid-19 virus going away and the logistics of finding a new date, possibly a different location and if the vendors would be available was too uncertain. We will move forward to the 2021 Festival which will be on April 24th and still to be held at the North Haven Fairgrounds.Vendors please see the information below for 2020/2021.

FYI in case you missed it...

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We always need volunteers for the Festival and due to the larger size of the North Haven Fairgrounds we need a few more. You do not have to be a member to volunteer. We are always open to having new volunteers even if you don't know anything about sheep! There are many jobs to be filled every year. If you have a wool craft you would like to teach or demonstrate, are able to give a vendor a break so they can grab a bite to eat or use the restroom, willing to help with set up or clean up and more please let us know. Groups needing to put in some community service time are welcome too. Email csbafestivalvendors@gmail.com and put "2021 Volunteer" in the subject to sign up or find out about types of help needed.

The Connecticut Sheep, Wool & Fiber Festival celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2009 and we are growing. The festival started in 1909 by the CT Sheep Breeders Association as a program "to promote the keeping of sheep in Connecticut" by visiting farms and eventually to a one day event held at UCONN. It has evolved and expanded into a premier sheep and fiber festival. This event is family friendly agricultural and learning experience for the general public as well as shepherds and fiber enthusiasts.

Vendor Opportunities for the 2021 Festival
Update From the Vendor Co-Chairs

"For those of you who may not know, Governor Lamont issued an executive order banning gatherings of 250 or more until May 1st. Accordingly the April CSBA Festival is cancelled. The CSBA board met Monday to consider rescheduling for later this year but decided that wasn't feasible. This was a difficult decision to make as our new location at North Haven Fairground generated a lot of interest from new customers. We will have a 2021 Festival. We have a contract for holding it in North Haven on April 24, 2021."
Current vendors wanting to be part of the 2021 Festival don't have to do anything. Your space will be held and your payment for this year will hold your spot for 2021. If you want your money refunded, email csbafestivalvendors@gmail.com by Monday, April 20, 2020 and we'll send a check as soon as we can. Requesting a refund makes your space available to new vendors.

All spaces are full for this year. The new grounds are larger and after this year we will see how much further we can expand. If you are interested in being a vendor in the future please email csbafestivalvendors@gmail.com and put "2021 request" in your subject line. Keep in mind that our focus is wool and natural fiber products that are produced by our small farms and businesses. Priority is given to Connecticut sheep farms, and then to vendors that have something different. All vendors are required to have a valid Connecticut Sales & Use Tax Certificate and to provide certificates of liability insurance.

The list of 2020 vendors and the buildings they would have been in is posted below.
